The tivax stb-t8 is really an updated version of the tivax stb-t9 and includes the analog pass-through feature. That is the only difference between the two models.

 

If you are certain that you don't need the analog pass-through feature then you can go for the tivax-stb9. However it's best to be on the safe side and go in for the stb-t8 since it's only costs $5 more than the stb-t9. That's not a lot to pay for such a handy feature.

While all major full-power stations are required to switch to digital broadcasting by June 12th 2009, some low power stations, class A stations and tv translator stations don't have to make the switch.
