The tivax stb-t8 offers better picture quality and you can view scheduled programs up a couple of hours in advance. The stb-t8 also receives more channels than the zenith dtt901 when connected to an analog set with an old 'rabbit ear' antenna. It also has a switch on the rear for channel 3 or 4 output - This is an option that's software controlled on the dtt901.
You can also not list information from other channels unless you switch to that particular channel. You cannot view upcoming shows with the zenith dtt901 but it's a more solidly built box which has a better remote and a better on-screen guide.
